Nathan E. Sorrell, 71, of rural Mulberry Grove, died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at St. Johns Medical Center in Springfield.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Young Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in Seminary Township, Fayette County. Visitation will be held two hours before services on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials: The family.
Mr. Sorrell was born on Oct. 6, 1936, in Big Woods, Ky., the son of Roy David and Georgia Hampton Sorrell. He married Bernice Eagle on April 14, 1962, in Pennsylvania.
He grew up in Kentucky and spent most of his life in Pennsylvania, where he worked as a saw mill operator. He moved to rural Mulberry Grove about a year ago.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Kathy and her husband Ken Zaecki of Mulberry Grove, and Janet and her husband Grant Varner of Hadley, Pa.; sons, Edward Sorrell of Baltimore, Md., and Paul Sorrell of Mulberry Grove; brothers, Carl Sorrell and Ralph Sorrell, both of Port Hurong, Mich.; sister, Naomi and her husband Norm Balkwill of Seminole, Fla.; sister-in-law, Lynda Sorrell of Port Hurong, Mich.; six grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen Sorrell; and brothers, Ron Sorrell and Darrell Sorrell.
