Earl P. Adermann, 80, of Decatur, died at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church in Decatur. Burial with a Flight Home ceremony was in Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur. Visitation was held on Friday evening at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur. Memorials: Christ United Methodist Church.
Mr. Adermann was born on Sept. 2, 1927, in Witt, the son of Ferdinand and Ellanora Godbersen Adermann. He married Fern Coulter on Aug. 24, 1946, in Las Vegas, N.M.
He retired from Kroger as a meat cutter, and he served in the U.S. Army. He and his wife were original members of Christ United Methodist Church, where he was an active member.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Lanny Adermann and wife Renee of Decatur, Dwight Adermann and wife Shelley of Decatur, and Keith Adermann and Lyndsey Gordon of San Diego, Calif.; daughters, June and her husband Eric Schmidt of Beecher, Shelley and her husband Bob Pollock of Clinton, Marcie and her husband Jeff Wigginton of Clinton, Laurie and her husband David Montgomery of Decatur, and Joyce and her husband Larry Webb of Decatur; 19 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin Adermann and wife Margaret, and August Adermann, both of Vandalia; sisters, Freda Moeller and Alvena Noffsinger, both of Vandalia; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Beulah Coulter of Sparta and Grace Edwards of Kent, Wash.; and brother-in-law, James R. Coulter and his wife Ina of Los Alamos, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, David Eddy; adopted daughter, Patricia Skelton; six brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
