Fayola Hugo, 77, of Centralia and formerly of Vandalia, died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.
Services will be held at 1 a.m. on Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle and one hour before services on Saturday at the church. Memorials: Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Hoffman or Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School.
Mrs. Hugo was born on March 2, 1930, in Vandalia, the daughter of Charles and Opal Abbott McNealy. She married Edgar Hugo on June 20, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman; he died on June 17, 1984.
She was a homemaker, mother and wife. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, a past Red Cross volunteer, past election judge and past member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. She enjoyed talking about her grandchildren and her faith, and was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing politics.
She is survived by daughters, Diane and her husband Larry Hanke of Carlyle, Connie and her husband Roger Thompson of West Monroe, La., Cathie and her husband Bob Mahlandt of Byrnes Hill, Mo., and Denise and her husband Gary Robinson of rural Centralia; sons, David and his wife Evelyn Hugo of Centralia, Danny and his wife Mary Hugo of Carlyle, Dennis Hugo of Centralia, and Doug and his wife Barb Hugo of Centralia; grandchildren, Cary Mattmiller, Christopher Hugo, Nan Burkeen, Jonathan Hugo, Genny Garrett, Mike Thompson, Pete Thompson, Jason Mahlandt, Adam Mahlandt, Andrew Robinson, Shaina Diekemper, J.R. Hugo, Amanda Hugo, Dennis Hugo II, Audrey Hugo, Katie Hugo, Angelique Wood, Michael Clark and Crystal Clark; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lisa and her husband Reg Ealy of Charleston, Judy and her husband Alan Harnack of Sullivan, and Jennifer and her husband John Fildes of Mattoon; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lorraine and her husband Edgar Reinkensmeyer of Hoyleton, Alfred and his wife Garnell Hugo of Centralia, and Bernice and her husband Clarence Little of Centralia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother and sister-in-law, William McNealy and Bernadine McNealy; and sister and brother-in-law, Barb Hugo and Herb Hugo.
