The Rev. Dallas White, 85, of Ramsey, died at 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Fillmore Baptist Church, with the Revs. Edmund Hill and Harry Cook officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery, Van Burensburg. Visitation was held Friday evening at Allen and Sutton Funeral Home in Fillmore and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.
Rev. White was born on Oct. 1, 1922, in Coffeen, the son of Cleveland and Iola Crites White. He married Dorothy Merriman on Feb. 21, 1946, in Coffeen.
He was a retired Southern Baptist minister and correctional officer at Vandalia Correctional Center. During his career as a minister, he was pastor at Baptist churches in Smithboro, Fillmore, Mt. Pleasant, Greenville, New Hope, Coalton and Schram City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Bayle City Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Donald and his wife Janet White of Old Fort, N.C., and Danny and his wife Patti White of Greenville; daughters, Connie and her husband Marlin Hartwig of Fort Atkinson, Wis., Sandra White of Old Fort, N.C., and Dana and her husband Patrick Dietschweiler of Fort Atkinson, Wis., brother, Elmer White of Taylorville; sister, Ethel Stewart of Mulberry Grove; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Wilbur, Woodrow, Ivy, Delmar, Kenneth and a brother in infancy.
