Marjorie E. Meisenheimer, 93, Alton

Marjorie E. Meisenheimer, 93, of Alton, died on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Rosewood Care Center, Alton.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with the Rev. Dennis Doane officiating. Burial will be in Bethalto United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials: Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Meisenheimer was born on June 27, 1914, in Greenfield, the daughter of Edward and Amy Ballard Saxton. She married William Baker in 1993; he preceded her in death. She married Leland Meisenheimer on Dec. 22, 1961, at First United Church in East Alton; he died on Oct. 21, 2002.

She was a licensed practical nurse on the surgical floor at Wood River Hospital for more than 12 years, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Alton and Bethalto Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Country Echos Dance Club of Vandalia for 23 years.

She is survived by sons, Lathy and his wife Pam Meisenheimer of Dorchester, Gerald and his wife Dotti Baker of Washington, Ill., and Robert and his wife Faye Tuetken of Florida; daughters, Sue Ellyen Bricker of Cottage Hills and Marilyn Baker of Missouri; grandchildren, Robert Hoxsie, Merle ‘Pooter’ Bricker Jr., Danny Bricker, Jeff Bricker, Dawn Bell, Tina Meisenheimer, Patrick Baker, Bethany Ryan, Kim Carter, Kaska Driskill and Ty Hancock; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; brother, Harold Saxton; and sisters, Evelyn Saxton, Virginia Russell, Dorothy Cannon and Edna Jett.
