Dr. Jerome W. Wolf, 69, of Vandalia, died at 4:17 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2007, at his residence.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with Pastor Peter Kolb officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia and one hour before services on Wednesday at the church. Memorials: Vandalia Breakfast Optimist Club or donor’s choice.
Dr. Wolf was born on March 26, 1938, in Eureka, S.D., the son of Dr. Walter B. and Dr. Mae A. Aman Wolf. He married Margaret Straub on Aug. 14, 1960, in Eureka S.D.
He was a chiropractor, and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, American Chiropractic Association and Vandalia Breakfast Optimist Club, having serving as a past governor of the Optimist Club’s Illinois District; and a past member of the Vandalia Jaycees, having served as a JCI senator.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael Wolf of Chicago, and David and his wife Marcy Wolf of Wildwood, Mo.; daughters, Diane and her husband Kenny Torbeck of Vandalia, Kathy and her husband Larry VonBehren of St. Peter, and Charlotte and her husband David Pugh of O’Fallon, Mo.; grandchildren, Kristyn and Kayla VonBehren; Jacob, Dane, Nikolas and Jonathon Torbeck, and Benjamin Wolf; and sister, Dr. Constance and her husband Dr. John Gould of George, South Africa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
