    The Lady Vandals improved to 13-7 on the season and 2-2 in South Central Conference play with a two-game win over Litchfield on Tuesday night.

  • Vandals smack Litchfield

    The Vandals learned some things from their first loss of the season, and worked on those areas in getting ready for Litchfield last Friday. The preparation worked, with the jumping out to a big lead early on their way to a 58-30 home win.

  • Sports Roundup

    The Vandalia boys golf team beat Greenville and was edged by Breese Central in a triangular match on Monday at Greenville Country Club.
    Breese Central won the triangular with a 185 total, followed by Vandalia at 187 and Greenville at 212.
    Vandalia’s Scott Shulman was the match medalist with a 42. Other Vandalia scores: Nathaniel Weaver 46, Connor Satterthwaite 49 and Bryce Dunn 50.
    Vandalia stands at 7-5 on the season.

    The Vandal golfers lost to North Mac in a home match last Thursday, 180-184.

    South Central scored three runs in the sixth inning and once in the seventh to defeat Windsor/Stew-Stras in a road contest on Tuesday.
    Hunter Brandt gave up four runs on six hits while striking out five, and Trent Geiler held WSS to one hit in two innings of work to pick up the win.

  • Laack advances to IESA State...

    Vandalia’s Chase Laack advanced to the Illinois Elementary School Association State Golf Tournament for the second straight year with a fourth-place finish at the Sectional Tournament last Tuesday.

  • VJHS Wins Regional Opener

    The Vandalia Junior High School baseball team advanced to the second round in regional play with a 2-1 win over Alton in Vandalia on Tuesday afternoon. In defeating the fifth-seeded Alton, the fourth-seeded Vandals now face Edwardsville Lincoln at Greenville Junior High at 10 a.m. on Saturday. In the first photo, the Vandals Matthew Hagy successfully lays down a sacrifice bunt on Tuesday. In the second photo, winning pitcher Jayden Lotz fires a pitch while shortstop Owen Miller gets ready to field.
