  • Senior Spotlight: Quenten Austin

Vandalia senior Quenten Austin has dabbled in almost every track event during his four-year high school career, so it’s not a big surprise that some of his future goals include success in more than one event.

After celebrating senior day last Thursday at his final home meet, Austin went on to win three events at the conference meet on Tuesday, taking victories in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, and the high jump. He fell short of his goal of winning four events by placing sixth in discus.

  • Beasley tosses no-hitter vs....

St. Elmo junior Connor Beasley fired a five-inning no-hitter against Brownstown on Tuesday.

With the 10-0 win, St. Elmo moved its record to 17-6, which is a school record for wins in a season.

The Eagles have now won 11 games in a row.

Beasley (4-3) was locked in throughout the game, striking out seven batters against just one walk. St. Elmo also committed one error in the game.

The Eagles gave him plenty of run support, too, scoring six times in the first inning and four more times in the fourth.
