A 3-pointer by Pana’s Mitchell Beyers at the regulation buzzer forced the third-place game of the Vandalia Holiday Tournament to overtime, and a gassed Vandalia squad was no match for the Panthers in the extra period, eventually swallowing a tough, 77-65 loss.
"I don't have an air pump to pump them back up (after that shot),” said coach Kevin Jackson. “They were deflated. I was deflated."
The Panthers (9-3, 4-1 VHT) scored on their first four possessions of overtime, quickly dashing any hopes of a Vandalia win.
