  • PHOTOS: Rams get game in on Monday

    Ramsey was the only team in Fayette County to get in a game on Monday, losing to Windsor, 9-3.

    Freshman Brady Reiss pitched five innings of relief, allowing just one run on six hits.

    Junior Tylor Knisley went 4-for-4 at the plate and scored twice.

    Senior Ryan Black added an RBI double, and Carter Hunt was 1-for-3 in the game.

    The Rams would beat Christ Our Rock Lutheran, 2-1, on Tuesday, with Tristan Wesselman delivering a two-run double in the  sixth inning.

    The Vandalia track teams last Thursday honored their senior members.

  • Maxey named KC's volleyball MVP

    St. Elmo graduate Brooke Maxey was recently named the Most Valuable Player of Kaskaskia College's volleyball team. She also earned the team's Defense Award.

    She is pictured above with other award winners from last Tuesday's banquet.

  • Hawkins pitching well for SIUE club team

    Vandalia graduate Kyle Hawkins has been a very effective pitcher for the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville club baseball team this spring.

    In his last four games, he has pitched 18 1/3 innings, striking out 28 batters.

    Included in those starts were a complete game in a 7-1 win against SIU-Carbondale on Sunday, and a four-hitter against St. Louis University last Tuesday.

    Against SIUC, Hawkins struck out eight, walked one and allowed just five hits to keep SIUE undefeated in conference play, at 8-0.
