    Demo derby and ATV races coming to fair

    The Montgomery County Fair Association will hold a demolition derby and ATV races this weekend at the fairgrounds in Butler.

    The demo derby will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and the races will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

    The derby will feature modifieds, super modifieds, compacts, mid-size cars, vans, full-size trucks and mini trucks.

    The top prizes are: $800 for modifieds, $500 for compacts and stock cars and a jackpot for all other classes.

  • Racing Briefs (June 23)

    County speedway to host Thurs. show

    Racing at Fayette County Speedway was rained out for the second straight week last Friday, but the track is hosting a special show on Thursday.

    Gates will open for the UMP Summer Nationals DIRTcar Hell Tour this Thursday at 3 p.m., with the racing hot laps to begin at 7 p.m.

    Qualifying for late models will begin at 7:30 p.m., and racing will follow immediately.

    Double track points will be awarded during the night.

  • Racing Briefs (June 16)

    Fayette County Speedway's June 17 show

    Fayette County Speedway will honor pit passes and tickets from last Friday's rained out races at this Friday's events.

    This Friday's show will feature UMP DIRTcar sanctioned Crate Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets. Also racing will be the two-person Team Cars.

    The Team Car and Hornet divisions will also run their rained out May 27 features on Friday.

    Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 7 p.m. and racing will begin immediately following hot laps.
