The Vandalia Sport Fishing  and Conservation Club will host a free youth fishing tournament on June 8 at the Lions Club Pavilion.

Youth ages 5-15 may enter the tournament, and will be fishing for bluegill and crappie from 10 a.m.-noon.

Any type of bait can be used, and all participants will fish off of the bank.

Prizes will be awarded in each class, with the youth divided into ages 5-10, and ages 11-15.

The Vandalia Sport Fishing and Conservation Club and Cumberland Quail Unlimited held a free kids fishing tournament at Vandalia Lake on Saturday, June 9. A total of 727 fish were caught by the young fishers and better than 110 supporters were on hand.
