Summer baseball and softball sign-up ends Saturday Sign-up for the summer baseball and softball programs at the Fayette County Family YMCA ends on Saturday at 5 p.m. Many different leagues are available for various age groups, and all players will receive a T-shirt that serves as their uniform. Registration information for each league follows. T-ball •Boys and girls under 5 years old; $15 for members, $30 for nonmembers.

No IKWF state qualifiers for Vandalia; two younger wrestlers win at sectionals

Vandalia resident Anthony Enlow won the intermediate 138-pound division at the Highland Sectional. He wrestles for the King Select Wrestling Club and plans to wrestle in next weekend's midget state meet in Danville. Vandalia Jr. Club wrestler Tanner Swain won the intermediate 79-pound division at Highland, and at the intermediate 55-pound division, Kyle Miller placed second and Jarek Wehrle placed third. Markus Isaiah also wrestled.

Eight Jr. Vandal grapplers advance to IKWF sectional

Eight Jr. Vandals qualified for this weekend’s Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation sectional tournament in Highland. All of the wrestlers who placed at least fourth in their age group (9 and older) at the Herrin Regional last Saturday qualified. Six wrestlers younger than 9 also placed in the top two for Vandalia.
