VANDALIA – Dalton Goldsmtih threw a complete-game shutout, four players combined to steal six bases and Post 95 cruised to a win against Salem for its first win in District play.
Goldsmith retired 11 batters in a row at one point during the 4-0 win for Vandalia in picking up his first victory of the season, striking out just batter, but inducing nine fly ball outs – including seven to center field.
“I said today that he needed to attack hitters all game,” said coach Mark Lewis. “He did exactly what I wanted him to do.”
