  • Good luck, Vandals

Two Vandalia teams are in postseason action, one at the first level and one in the second.
The Vandalia Community High School wrestling team is in Lawrenceville on Saturday, going for its 23rd straight regional title.
The Vandalia Junior High School eighth-grade boys basketball team defeated Greenville for the IESA Regional title on Tuesday, advancing to the sectional next Wednesday night at Divernon.
We wish both teams luck as they strive to move forward in postseason play.

  • Too many gaming licenses?

    Editor,
Two weeks ago, discussion about gaming held during a Vandalia City Council meeting was published in this newspaper. When I read that Vandalia had 16 licenses and Decatur 20, I thought it was a misprint. It was not.

  • Making, being part of history

Would you like to have your image part of our community's presentation to visitors? Vandalia's mural committee is giving you the chance to do just that.
In quite a unique fundraiser, the committee is selling chances to be one of the people represented in the town's first mural.
The chance is made possible through a raffle, with tickets for all ages available for $20.
Buying a ticket not only helps to make the latest beautification project a reality, it gives you a chance to be a part of the final product.
