  • Mason Elie Feltner

    John Feltner and Sherry Sidwell of Brownstown are the parents of a boy born at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 21 inches long. He was named Mason Elie Feltner.
    He has one sister, 3-year-old Macie Nicole Feltner.
    Grandparents are Greg and Debbie Sidwell, and John and Tricia Struble, all of Brownstown.

  • Evan Miles Zenker

    Jon and Andrea Zenker of West Chicago are the parents of a boy born at 10:50 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, Ill.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. He was named Evan Miles.
    Grandparents are Dannie and Patty Donaldson of Vandalia, and Steve and Arlene Zenker of Hampshire.
    Great-grandparents are Herchel and Barb Ambuehl.

  • Carruthers — Cook

    Cassandra Carruthers and Kal Cook, both of Ramsey, have announced their engagement and upcoming wedding.
    The future bride is the daughter of Steven and Stephanie Carruthers of Bingham. She is a 2003 graduate of Ramsey High School and a 2007 graduate of Lake Land College.
    The future groom is the son of Joe and Sandy Cook of Ramsey. He is a 2006 graduate of Ramsey High School and a 2008 graduate of Ranken Tech.
    The couple are planning a 4 p.m. wedding on Saturday, Sept. 4, at First Baptist Church of Ramsey. A reception will follow at the Moose Lodge in Vandalia.

  • Bland — Nichols

    Michalea Bland of Pana and Ryan Nichols of Vandalia have announced their engagement and upcoming wedding.
    The future bride is the daughter of Rod and Karla Bland of Pana. Grandparents are Clarence and Ida Bland, and Delbert and Carleen Pickett, all of Pana.
    She is a 2009 graduate of Pana Christian Academy and currently attends Lake Land Community College of Mattoon.
    She is currently employed at Candy’s Flowers & Gifts in Pana.

  • South Central HS orientation is Tuesday

    South Central High School will hold its freshmen parent/student orientation at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdsay in the high school gym.

  • First Baptist members visit Saddle Ridge Ranch VBS

    The Vacation Bible School of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia is visiting Saddle Ridge Ranch every Sunday evening (from 6 to 8:30 p.m.) in August.
    Eighty-one  “buckaroos” (children and adults alike) are learning the “Code of the West” (and east, south and north) through every Christian cowboy and cowgirl’s handbook, the Bible.

    Many at EO are privileged to participate in our weekly afternoon programs, now temporarily meeting at Fayette County Hospital’s Long Term Care area.
