  • 'Seasons of Caring'

    Hospice care helps patients and families focus on living. This is the message that the Fayette County Health Department Hospice is sharing with the community during National Hospice/Palliative Care Month.
    However, this important message lasts beyond the month of November and is important year-round.
    Every November, hospices across the country reach out to raise awareness of the compassionate care that hospice and palliative care provides patients and families copmg with serious and life-limiting illness.

  • New Program at Jefferson Primary School

  • Jefferson School receives $800 grant

    Jefferson Primary School in Vandalia recently announced that Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, donated $800 toward the purchase of communication-enhancing software for the speech-language department.  
    This grant originated with a request from Nate Prater, account manager, through Pioneer Community Investment. The funds will be directed toward the speech-language therapy department.
    The grant will specifically be used to purchase Boardmaker software for the school’s speech-language pathologists.

    The Brownstown Alumni Association recently presented donations to the Brownstown Sports Boosters and the Brownstown CUSD No. 201 Foundation.   • BES participates in Walk at School Day

    Brownstown Elementary School joined schools from around the world to celebrate International Walk to/at School Day on Oct. 6.
    Approximately 181 students from Brownstown Elementary School, directed by Sandra Stine, physical education teacher, walked at school during PE time.
    Giveaways were given to all students who participated in the walking by the Brownstown Village Board, and apples were donated by Masons Masonry in Brownstown.
