    What a day we had on Monday at Evergreen Outreach!  We all had cookies and iced tea! And a good time was had by all.
    Bernie Ray started things off with some piano music. And Jeannie Schlicht introduced the program for the day – singers, Judy Varga and Randy Schucker.
    We celebrated birthdays for Gladys Meador, Mickie Wilson, Mary Gebke, Ewald Steiner, Virginia Wolf, Steve Longwell and Eleanor McNutt. Phyllis Rames followed with a prayer for everyone.

    With a theme Bible verse taken from Jeremiah 29:11, the baccalaureate program last Wednesday at Vandalia Community High School included several references to the past, present and future.

    Vacation Bible School set at St. James

    Vacation Bible School is being held this Wednesday through Friday from 6-8 p.m. daily at St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia.
    The VBS program is open to all children, ages 3-12. On Wednesday, participants will be planting a garden. On Thursday, they will have relays. The VBS will conclude with a family night cookout on Friday. Participants in the cookout are asked to take a hot dog fork, a side dish to share and a lawn chair.

    Kolton Lee Schaefer
    Jennifer and Ryan Schaefer of rural Beecher City are the parents of a boy born at 8:01 a.m. on March 20, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.


    He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long. He was named Kolton Lee. He has a brother, Kaden, age 16 months.
    Grandparents are Kenneth and Kathy Bogart of rural Brownstown, and Evan Schaefer, and Matt and Amy Jones of Beecher City.
