    Chamber new business breakfast Nov. 15
    The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual new business breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 15, at Vandalia Country and Golf Club.
    The 7 a.m. breakfast is held to honor owners and managers who have started a new business in the past year. Also to be honored are individuals who have been promoted to new administrative and management positions. The cost is $10 per person.

  • FNB's England makes career move; Owens, Phelps promoted

    Cheryl England, vice president and loan officer at First National Bank, has announced her plans to leave the bank to pursue an opportunity with the Office of the Comptroller of Currency.

    Jennifer Philbrick of Vandalia has been named circulation manager of The Leader-Union.

    A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently at Expert Service.     Marcus and Ashley Baker of St. Louis, Mo., are the parents of a son born at 12:24 p.m. on May 1, 2012, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.

  • Anniversary

    Mr. and Mrs. Tom Clark Sr. of Ramsey will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday.


    Tom (Keltel) and the former Sharon Shevlin were married on Nov. 10, 1962, in Centerville.
    The Clarks have two sons: Tom Clark Jr. and his wife Betty, and Ron Clark and his wife Kim.
    They have five grandchildren: Angela and her husband Juan Arroyo, William “Billy” Clark, Tasha Clark, Ashley and her husband James Koonce, and Levi Clark.
    They have three great-grandchildren: Jon Ivey, Trent Clark and Kaiden Arroyo.

    Karen Willms of Vandalia and Steve Storm of Brownstown were united in marriage in an 11 a.m. ceremony on July 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Brownstown, with the Rev. Jim Dann officiating.
