    Rebecca J. Lester graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Dec. 15 with a master’s degree in nursing, with a specialization in nurse anesthesia.

    A member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Lester has accepted a position as a certified registered nurse anesthetist with Brigham Anesthesia in Carbondale.
    The daughter of Andy and Jenny Lester of Vandalia, she is a 2003 graduate of Vandalia Community High School and a 2007 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

  • The End of the Rivalry

    With the Brownstown and St. Elmo school districts joining together all of their sports teams beginning with the next school year, Friday's contest at Brownstown High School marked the final regular season game between the two high school boys varsity basketball teams.

    The future bride, formerly of Vandalia, is the daughter of Keith and Lori Moeller of Kinmundy, and Cheryl and Randy Pollard of Vandalia.
    The future groom is the son of Kenny and Janice Albert of Petersburg.
    An April wedding is planned.

    The Brownstown High School cheerleaders perform a stunt as the Bombers starting lineup was introduced prior to Friday's home contest against St. Elmo.

    It was the final basketball game between the two basketball squads, as Brownstown and St. Elmo will have cooperative squads in all sports beginning with the next school year.
