    Western Illinois University
    Dylan Cole Sigrist, a senior, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Western Illinois University in Macomb.
    To be placed on the dean’s list, students must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale having completed at least 12 credit hours.

    Amy Pippin of Farina was among 17 students at Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville recognized as new members of the Pinnacle Honor Society during the end of the spring semester.

    The FourGiven Quartet will be in concert at 7 p.m. this Saturday at Unity Baptist Church, located at Ill. Route 185 and Airport Road in Vandalia.

  • Ramblin' Rose Bus stopping in Ramsey, St. Elmo

    The Ramblin’ Rose Bus, a ministry sponsored by Effingham Catholic Charities, will travel to 14 towns in the seven-county area this summer to deliver school supplies and clothing.
    The program is designed to provide assistance to families with limited financial means, who qualify for free or reduced school lunches.
