    • Darcey D. DePaolo, 20, 1217 S. Elm St., Vandalia, was arrested on Aug. 16 on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis and possession of methamphetamine. She was being held awaiting the setting of bond.
    • Melinda M. Davis, 28, RR 2, Ramsey, was arrested on Aug. 16 on a charge of use, sale or delivery of an intoxicating compound. Bond was $1,500.
    • Tamara L. Campbell, 23, 2396 US 51, Ramsey, was arrested on Aug. 15 for failure to appear in court. Bond was $2,500.

    ✔ Bingo will be held at the Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 Home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 7 p.m. The kitchen will be open.

  • Celebrating 40 years
  • Cancer fund meeting this Thursday

    The Fayette County Cancer Fund is holding a meeting at 7 p.m. this Thursday in the Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care conference room.
    The meeting is open to the public, and all interested individuals are invited to attend.
    At the meeting, fund volunteers will be discussing various arrangements for Celebration in the Park, set for Sept. 24, as well as setting a date for the fund's survivor dinner.
    Fund officers and volunteers want all residents of Fayette County to have their voice and opinions heard.

    Nathan and Tanya Sachan of Vandalia are the parents of a girl born at 9:32 p.m. on May 28, 2016.

    Ariella Hazel-Ruth weighed 5 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 19 inches long. She has four siblings: Issac, Alexander, Kurstiana and Nevaeh.
    Maternal grandparents are David Murray and Vickie Staley, and paternal grandparents are Charles Sachan, and Jan and Tom Goolsby.
