    Terry and Sandy Kizziar of Gruver, Texas, spent Thursday to Tuesday at the home of Sandy’s sister, Belinda Harpster of St. Peter. On Saturday, Belinda and Sandy visited their mother, Helen Limes, at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.

  • Sheriff's Arrest Log

    • Jessica R. Thomas, 23, 328 S. Fourth St., Vandalia, was arrested on Dec. 12 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. No bond information was listed.
    • Scott R. Beck, 50, 203 W. Madison St., Vandalia, was arrested on Dec. 11 for an alleged probation violation. He was released at the order of a judge.

    There have been many “Fayette Faces” involved in the building of the Golden Years Club building, from the first dawning of realization of the members that the old, familiar Pilger on the corner just a block from the village main street was deteriorating and a new home was needed.
    When the members held their first potluck meeting in the new building, it was also, appropriately, the first Christmas dinner, as they all joined hands in prayer, some vocally, while all did so silently, within their hearts.
