WOOD RIVER – Bryan Hosick rumbled through the night against East Alton-Wood River last Friday.
The Vandalia senior carried the ball just six times for the Vandals during a 27-6 season-opening win, but all but one of those dashes were at least 10 yards, and two of them – a 34-yard scamper and a shifty 68-yard run – set up Vandal touchdowns.
“The line blocked awesome, and there were holes everywhere,” Hosick said. “It was easy to run like that.”
His 144 yards were more than double his career-high of 67 yards, which he gained against Roxana last season.
