  • HCE Proclamation

    Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman signed a proclamation declaring the second week of October as Illinois Association of Home and Community Education Week.

  • Brownstown See You at the Pole

    About 45 students gathered around the flag pole at Brownstown Junior-Senior High last Wednesday morning for "See You at the Pole," a time of prayer.

    After the service, several area churches provided breakfast for those students who participated. In the second photo, from left to right, are Eddie Carson, Kaylee Sefton and Jordan Evans.

    Working with Vandalia PE teacher, Brian Buscher,  Brownstown Elementary School coordinated an available time on the tennis courts as a follow up to the sixth-grade tennis unit.

    The Mulberry Grove Trap Team competed at the Sam Jenny Memorial Shoot on July 10 in Highland.

  • October Classes at Vandalia KC Campus

    October classes
    There is no excuse for not having something to do in October. Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus has a wide assortment of classes for all interests.
    On Thursdays, Oct. 6, 13 and 20, a pencil drawing (COED 7003VA01E) class will be held with KC art instructor Tim Wight. The class will meet from 6-8 p.m. in the student commons area.

  • Eating with the Stars

    The latest award in the Jefferson Primary School's rewards program was a field trip to Vandalia Community High School, where JPS kindergarten and first-grade students enjoyed a picnic with VCHS athletes.
