• Jerrod A. Long, 31, 1322 W. Edwards St., Vandalia, was arrested on Oct. 4 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was $5,000.
• A 17-year-old youth was arrested on Oct. 4 on charges of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property more than $300 and possession of tobacco by a minor. The youth was released on a notice to appear in court.

• Jacob A. Jones, 23, 103 E. Fourth St., Ramsey, was arrested on Sept. 20 on a charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Bond was $100,000.
• George L. McCray, 31, 127 E. Madison St., Vandalia, was arrested on Sept. 20 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. Bond was $300,000.

The city of Vandalia's Building & Zoning Department issued the following permits in August:
• Pete Burnam, for a retaining wall at 2065 S. Lake Drive (lake lot No. 132).
• Darrell Pryor, for a new trailer, deck and holding tank at Vandalia Lake lot No. 1.
• Joe and Mary Cole, for a fence at 833 N. Sixth St.
