  • SWCD selling trees again

The Fayette County Soil and Water Conservation District is again holding a tree sale.
The district has ordered large quantities of trees to sell, and available during this year’s sale are white pine, Norway spruce, blue spruce, red oak and white dogwood trees.
White pine and Norway spruce trees make good windbreaks; they both grow relatively fast and have a fairly good survival rate.
The blue spruce tree, which grows a little slower, is a good ornamental tree, and the red oak is a slow-growing hardwood tree good for shade.
