    ✔ CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
    ✔ TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.

    ✔ Bingo will be held at the Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 Home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo begins at 7 p.m. The kitchen will be open.

  • Cancer fund meeting this Thursday

    The Fayette County Cancer Fund is holding a meeting at 7 p.m. this Thursday in the Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care conference room.
    The meeting is open to the public, and all interested individuals are invited to attend.
    At the meeting, fund volunteers will be discussing various arrangements for Celebration in the Park, set for Sept. 24, as well as setting a date for the fund's survivor dinner.
    Fund officers and volunteers want all residents of Fayette County to have their voice and opinions heard.

    The Fayette County Museum has announced the 2016-17 Season of Events in Wesley Hall at First United Melodist Church, located at Madison and Fourth streets in Vandalia.
    At 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, Stan Seevers of Argenta will present a very popular program, “Stan’s What’s It’s.”
    Severs will bring a variety of tools from his extensive collection of tools used in farms and homes in the past. After those present pass around the tools and try to identify each, Seevers will announce what each was used for.

    ✔ Tools for School, which provides free school supplies for in-need students pre-kindergarten through junior college, will be operating from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1221 W. Fillmore St., Vandalia. All students must accompany their parents, and they are to enter through the north door of the church.
    ✔ The Vandalia Park District meets at 4:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Room at Evans Public Library in Vandalia.
