  • Pedestrian fatally injured in crash early Monday

    A Mulberry Grove woman was killed when struck by a vehicle as she walked along U.S. Route 40 near St. Elmo early Monday morning.
    According to the Illinois State Police, Crystal L. Snider, 32, was walking along Route 40 about two miles west of St. Elmo shortly after midnight when she was hit by a 2002 Buick Rendezvous driven by Arik Warner, 30, of Brownstown.
    Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen, who pronounced Snider dead at the scene at 1:12 a.m., said that Snider was walking with a friend when the crash occurred.

  • Pedestrian killed in early Monday morning crash

    A St. Elmo woman who was walking along U.S. Route 40 early Monday morning was killed when she was struck by a passing vehicle.

    Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen said on Monday morning that 32-year-old Chrystal Snider and a friend were walking three-10ths of a mile east of County Road 1950E when an eastbound car driven by Arik Warner struck Schnider.

    Bowen pronounced Snider dead at the scene of the accident at 1:12 a.m.
