  • BHS Prom Royalty

    Allyssa Philpot and Jacob Rolfingsmeier were crowned queen and king at the Brownstown High School prom on Saturday, April 26.

  • SCHS Prom

    The Roaring Twenties is the theme for the South Central High School prom, which will be held on Saturday in the high school in Farina.

    The coronation is at 7 p.m., and the Grand March will immediately follow. The prom candidates are pictured above.   • Health Grant for Brownstown Schools

    Brownstown Community Unit School District #201 received $2,000, along with CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) curriculum and materials, after deciding to participate in a Coordinated School Health Program.

  • Matthew Sefton receives USAF Academy appointment

    Matthew Brian Sefton of Brownstown has received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.

    New student orientation on main campus
    Kaskaskia College invites new students to attend new student orientation on the main campus.
    The free program is designed to introduce students to information and contacts important for a successful start of their college experience.
    Information about services, activities and classroom success strategies will be included. Students will be given resources they will be able to use throughout their time at KC. Students are encouraged to bring a family member with them.

  • Vandalia retirees to be honored May 1

    The Vandalia Board of Education will hold an appreciation dinner on Thursday, May 1, at Vandalia Junior High School.
    This year’s retirees being honored include:
