Verla Reed, Brownstown elementary school librarian, was honored as an Outstanding Educational Support Professional Employee at the Region 5 Illinois Education Association’s Awards Banquet held April 12 at the Edwardsville campus of the Lewis and Clark Community College.

Vandalia Community High School will be offering summer school in the subjects of math (algebra 1B and algebra) and English (English 1 and English 2) for VCH students. Students who have failed second semester of English or math are required to attend. Students who have failed the whole year of math or English will need to repeat the class in its entirety during the 2011-12 school year,
