On a recent Friday, the freshmen class at Vandalia Community High School was treated to a day out of the classroom.

About 225 people attended the Vandalia All-School Reunion held at the American Legion Home in Vandalia.

Starting a Small Business class
The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Kaskaskia College will host a “Starting a Small Business in Illinois” workshop on Monday, Oct. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Workforce Center, 325 S. Poplar St. in Centralia.
Topics to be covered include: how to develop a business plan and a marketing plan; and how to get organized and maintain records.
Other topics will include: determining the form of your business organization; and legal and financial basics.

The Kaskaskia College Music Department will present its first concert of the 2012-13 season on Tuesday with the fall instrumental concert. The concert will feature the Kaskaskia College Concert and Jazz Bands under the direction of Professor Cliff Jourdan.
Concert band highlights include "The Processional Wedding March” by John Philip Sousa, and “Symphony No. 9 ‘From the New World’ Finale Excerpts” by Antonin Dvorak.
