    Charles Orville Parvin, 91, of Fredericksburg, Va., and formerly of Vandalia, died on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Woodmont Nursing Home in Fredericksburg.

  • JoAnn Elwood Taylor, 74, Wisconsin

    JoAnn Elwood Taylor, 74, of Janesville, Wis., died on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville.

    Private family services were held on Saturday, March 13, at Schneider Apfel Schneider & Schneider Funeral Home in Janesville. Burial was in Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville.

    Mrs. Taylor was born on Oct. 22, 1935, in Peoria, the daughter of John and Mary Elwood. She married Kenneth Taylor, formerly of Vandalia, on Aug. 14, 1955.

    Bruce “Aub” Green Sr., 88, of Shobonier, died at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.

    Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pinhook Cemetery in Shobonier, with the Rev. Viktoria Halmagyi officiating. Military rights will be accorded at graveside by Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 of Vandalia.

    Ruby Carmen Schaub, 87, of Vandalia and formerly of Brownstown, died at 8:33 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, at her residence.

    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Pentecostal Church in Vandalia, with the Revs. Daniel McDonald and Kenneth Wehrle officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Brownstown.

    Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.

    Larry Joe Pruett, 57, of Brownstown, died at 8:17 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

    Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday in Griffith Cemetery, with B.J. Deal officiating. Military rites were accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9770 of Brownstown. Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Brownstown VFW or donor’s choice.

    Tommy T. Moreland, 76, of Ramsey, died at 5:34 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.

    Graveside services will be held a 11 a.m. on Friday at Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey, with Pastor John Sanders officiating and military rites accorded. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. on Friday. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey was in charge of arrangements.     Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Revs. Dan Rush and Ernest Flowers officiating. A private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Miller Funerael Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements.     Lester R. Pierce, 82, of Ramsey, died at 2:12 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at his home.

    Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, with Pastor Jay Huddleston officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in rural Ramsey. Memorials: Fayette County Health Department Hospice.

    Mr. Pierce was born on Oct. 20, 1927, in Ramsey, the son of Samuel Brody and Jessie Mae Nave Pierce. He married Virginia Faye Morell on April 21, 1951, in Decatur; she died on May 16, 2006.
