    God’s angel in charge of “Joyful Noise” landed at Evergreen Outreach on Monday. I expect the angel in charge of Pastor James Fackler had a senior moment, because we missed pastor VERY much!
    However, Donna Smith, with her quiet demeanor was our leader and pianist, while I was somewhere in the clouds, looking for more angels!   

  • Last week as we followed the Rich Cade family on “The Liver Journey,”  
    Heidi Cade admitted that “it was getting scary,” but their faith held firm.

  • A fundraising recital will be held on Saturday, June 13, for a Vandalia resident who has been accepted for study in Colorado this summer.

  • Emmet Alan Reents
    Matt and Afthan Reents of Hillsboro are the parents of a boy born at 9:17 a.m. on May 3, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital.

  • Golden Circle Nutrition Program, located at 616 W. Jackson St., Vandalia provides meals in a comfortable setting to people 60 years and older and their spouses. There are no income guidelines or any type of restrictions besides the age limit. Meals are prepared by Deb’s Catering of Altamont and delivered fresh daily. The suggested donation is $2.60 for meals.

  • An open house will be held this Saturday for a couple formerly from Brownstown who will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary later this month.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Seaton of Vandalia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12.
    An open house to celebrate the anniversary will be held from 2-4 p.m. this Saturday at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The Seatons request no gifts.
