  • Madricka, the mother burro …
… baby Buckwheat Burro’s mother, gave us a scare Monday morning, as she was lying down and couldn’t seem to get up.
She had been eating well, drinking water and seemed to be fine until this morning.
We called her OB-GYN veteranarian, Dr. Bristow, who arrived shortly after our call with his assistant, Taylor, and they thoroughly examined Madricka, and as she is so sweet and gentle, she cooperated nicely as they took her temperature, drew blood and checked her body for any problems.

When I dropped back by later, Sherry was getting ready for the dismissal at the end of the day, so I stood back out of the way and watched as the little bodies with the big backpacks headed for their buses, with Sherry and another lady making sure they boarded the right bus.
