  • It was with sadness that we received the news from Pat Rhodes that she and her husband, the Rev. Carl Rhodes, pastor of Northside Christian Church in Vandalia, were leaving the  area.

  • Death
    Ralph “Ed” Morton, 86, of St. Peter, died on Saturday, Jan. 7.
    The funeral and visitation were held on Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
    Baptism
    Lucy Eleanor Murphree, daughter of Nathan and Megan (Wollin) Murphree, was baptized on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Her godparents are Aaron Murphree, Seth Murphree and Danielle Chasteen.

  • Christine Yenny has been going through things, like many of us do from time to time, as we accumulate objects, items and, best of all, memories, over the years.

    Christine was  “digging around” recently when she ran across some real treasures, ones that brought back memories of her family and her childhood days, and one item even brought back the memory of some very interesting and intriguing family history of long ago.

  • A New Year with New Opportunities
    I have always liked to kind of clean clutter on the first day or two of January, whether it be on my desk or in the kitchen cabinets, drawers and closets, etc.
    But I don’t always get those tasks accomplished as I wish I could!
    I don’t really make new year’s resolutions any more, but I do like to try to learn at least one new thing every year. (Don’t always get that done, either, at least not the things I want to learn.)

  • Hospitalized
    Helen Limes of St. Peter, mother of Belinda Harpster, was taken to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital by ambulance on Wednesday, Dec. 21, where she remains a patient. Upon her release, she will be going to Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.

  • Chloe Carson is an 18-year-old Brownstown High School senior, very sweet and courteous. She likes animals, is active in school, and sings in her church’s choir and at school.
