  • Randy and Patti Hoffman of Vandalia celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on Monday, Aug. 8.


    Randy Hoffman, son of the late Raymond and Eileen Hoffman, and the former Patti Kern, daughter of Melvin and Janet Kern, were married on Aug. 8, 1981.
    He is employed at Vandalia Correctional Center, and she is employed at Greenville Regional Hospital.
    They are the parents of two children: Erin and her husband Tim Thomason, and Kyle Hoffman.
    They have one grandchild: Hailey Thomason.

  • Don and Ellen Willms of Brownstown will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, at First Christian Church in Brownstown.

  • Homecoming Gospel Choir here Sunday

    Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia will host the Homecoming Gospel Choir this Sunday at 6 p.m.
    The 80-voice group from Southern Illinois will sing gospel songs and hymns in the style of the Gaither Homecoming videos. The program is titled "A Homecoming Gospel Reunion."
