  • By Charlene M. Jett
If you’ve been suffering from the heat wave and drought, you should have come to Evergreen Outreach this week at Fayette County Hospital. We were all most abundantly refreshed and rewarded.
Beverly Hood started the program, while we passed out cookies from Pam Baker – wonderful chocolate chip cookies that were slightly warm. Yum! And if that wasn’t enough goodness, Phyllis Thoman was tickling the ivory keys, producing beautiful notes to cheer us all up.

  • Don’t you just love cell phone commercials? For $29.99 a month,  you, too, can become a member of the modern-day communication community! I will never understand the 99-cent concept – just add the penny and round it off – be honest and make it $30!

  • Betsy LongHorn & Cattle Family Doing Well …
… in spite of the lack of rain and resulting condition of their Homestead pasture.

However, the Longhorns, unlike some of the other breeds, actually like the prickly weeds and dried stuff that most other cattle don’t eat.
But, we didn’t want them to be hungry, so we visited Preacher Pete and brought a load of nice hay back to them.
