    Nathaniel and Tricia Williams of St. Elmo are the parents of a boy born at 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 22, young people in Fayette County will join employees from the Vandalia Walmart to celebrate the county 4-H program and encourage artistic expression.
    Walmart will host youth in the store from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to learn more about the 4-H visual arts project.
    Young people will learn fun ways to decorate pumpkins for the fall season, and each youth will take home, at no cost, a pumpkin he or she decorated.
    Families can learn more about joining a local 4-H club from University of Illinois Extension Educator Judy Mae Bingman.

    The future bride is the pastor of St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia and Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee.
    The future groom is a writer.
    They will be married on Sunday, Nov. 13, following the worship service at St. James Lutheran Church.

  • Twenty-two members and friends gathered at Crown Point Church last Thursday for a potluck dinner, visiting and a devotional message.
    The event is hosted by the women of the church on the last Thursday of every month, except November and December.
     Participating were: Mary Campbell, Jason Worker, Janice Evans, Patty Beard, Chris and Bev Beck, Kirstie and Karlie Henna, Glenna Soura, Gene and Bob Milhoan, Harold and Loretta Sidwell, Bob and Maxine Crager, Jeralene Lovall, Jack and Joyce Ritchey, Frank and Betty Emerick, and Bill and Panzi Blackwell.
