“Take care; lest you forget the Lord your God … beware lest you say … my power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth … for it is God who gives you the power to get wealth”. (Deuteronomy 8:11, 17)

This past Monday will be known as the day after the tornadoes. I think more than seven  counties were declared disasters. More about being thankful and grateful later!
We missed Betty Stolte at the piano, since she was having surgery. We sang “Happy Birthday” (out of key and off tune – Betty would NOT be proud of us) to her, Annie Ledbetter, Genevieve Revis and Lee Poe.

  • Jesus came to free us from even our secret sins

    "Would anyone know
    That my socks had holes,
When I went for my Sunday walk?
    Not really, I’d surmise.

But if my toes poked through
    The holes in my shoes,
    Everyone would know.
    And I’d be quite surprised."

With all the clouds in the sky, it took us a while to get warmed up on Monday.
Sweet Donna Smith  played gentle piano music until everyone arrived and started on their refreshments. Beulah Brown was our leader, and she is always prepared for the unknown! She knows how to wing it, if someone defaults.

  • Because of Jesus, death no longer produces fear

This past week, our American culture celebrated Halloween.
