After a stormy night on Sunday, the sun came out on Monday, and Evergreen Outreach was hugely attended. All chairs were full.
Cookies made by Iris Rademacher and Peg Clark were eagerly accepted, along with drinks. Many volunteers helped with serving.
Donna Smith, who often plays the piano as guests enter, was not able to play. Her husband, Gail, is seriously ill. Prayer for him and his family would be most welcome.

  • Are you really good enough to get into heaven?

Last week, I read an anecdote about a young lady named Alexandra Flynn from Freemont, Neb.

Back in 2002, Alexandra, or Alex as her friends called her, went to her high school’s homecoming dance. She left home in high spirits, but she did not have her high school ID with her. When the man at the door refused her admission without her ID, she went home to get it. Unable to find it, her mother went back to the dance with her to identify her and to explain. Again, the daughter was refused admission without the ID.

Living Way of the Cross is Wednesday
The youth of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church in Vandalia invite the public to join them in praying "The Living Way of the Cross" next Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the church.
The path of Jesus' suffering and death will be dramatized, with responses and a familiar hymn after each station.
The "Via Delorosa" or "Sorrowful Way" is a centuries-old commemoration of the work of salvation that Jesus accomplished through his suffering and death.

Finally, we have moved into the spring season. The days are longer; the songs of birds are heard; the fields will soon become dark patches for planting; and new life is all around us. Very soon, it will be Easter, and everyone attending Evergreen Outreach has expectations of the special afternoon presentations.
This past Monday, we had a capacity crowd of 150 or more.
