  • Evergreen Outreach-Sept. 15, 2011

    By Joyce Mueller
The season is changing, and many activities are competing for our time and attention. Schedules and routines are now in order.
As they entered Wesley Hall, Evergreen Outreach guests were greeted by the music of Donna Smith, who provided a variety of piano selections. She accompanied the Rev. Jim Fackler, who started the program with the “Welcome" and "E.O.” songs.

  • If God is for us, who can be against us?

When we look around this world, we see all kinds of suffering – fires, drought, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, storms of nature and, sadly, man-made storms.

  • Evergreen Outreach (Sept. 1)

    By Pat Rhodes

What a beautiful day for an outing to Evergreen Outreach on Monday!

As I entered Wesley Hall,  I heard laughter and chatter coming from the room. Our guests from FAYCO, Sweetbriar, Vandalia Rehab and Fayette County Long Term Care seemed happy to be back this week after missing last Monday for a lack of air-conditioning in the hall.

Bettye Stolte was at the piano,  playing a variety of lively tunes to get the party started.

  • Minister's Forum-Sept. 1, 2011

I was walking through the mall recently while waiting for my wife to wind up her shopping trip, when suddenly one of those doorway specials caught my eye.

It was a book. A small book, but the price had been drastically reduced. The subtitle, “100 recipes for jams, jellies, pickles and preserves,” caused me to shell out five bucks of last month's skimpy Social Security check, and I took the book home with me.
