Men's Bible study offers military coffee
Northside Christian Church invites men to a Bible study from  8-9 a.m. on Tuesdays, featuring "Sniper's Brew Coffee," a coffee made specially for the military.

Women's study on Paul is under way
An 11-week video study for women at Brownstown First Christian Church on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., began last week.

Fayette County Salvation Army raised a record amount in donations during the Christmas season.
The bell-ringing campaign collected $14,900 from locations across Fayette County. That tops  the record set last year by $1,000.
During the last week of November and all of December, more than 220 volunteers manned kettles at Wal-Mart, Harmon's Market IGA and Rural King. There also were more than 20 unmanned kettles in locations throughout the county.

Wild game meal at Brownstown church

Brownstown First Christian Church will host its fourth annual wild game supper this Sunday at 5:30 p.m. All participants are encouraged to bring a wild game dish and other food.

Parking is hardly ever convenient, and, in most cases, turns out to be a discouraging part of the driving experience. It seems to me that much of the problem is related to our obsession with comfort. We would like to park as close as possible to our destination, and so we invent ingenious ways of achieving that goal. In this respect, I’m just an average American driver.
