Our Evergreen Outreach meeting on Monday was filled with fun! On-the-spot music and entertainment by SoftFire (David and Patricia Pence) opened the program. They started off with a short marching song, like “Onward Christian Soldiers,” to get us all warmed up and welcomed. Their rendition of “Amazing Grace” was stirring and profound.
Home-baked peanut butter cookies were provided by Cindy Hunter, our leader for the day. The entire kitchen smelled good.

Members of the OASIS group of First Baptist Church knew that they were going on a trip last Tuesday, but they didn’t exactly know where they were going. It was a mystery.
Members were guessing which way they’d go, once the trip got under way.
Trip coordinator Ginger Wells told them that their destination was more than 30 miles away, but it would take 58 minutes to travel there.
The Rev. Carl Rhodes, pastor of Northside Christian Church, and Gene Beckman, Vandalia VFW chaplain, recently completed a class titled "Rural Clergy Training Program," sponsored by the Veterans' Administration.
