  • Bible verses prompt five New Year's resolutions

As a new civil year begins, many make life-changing resolutions to improve their situation, enhance their relationships or make this world a better place. The variety of resolutions is as broad as the many facets of our lives and as difficult or easy as the habits we have formed.

What a day! What a joy! On Monday, it was 70 degrees outside, but we enjoyed the spirit of Christmas inside Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church.
Donna Smith greeted us with a medley of beautiful Christmas carols: “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” “There’s a Song in the Air” and “Joy to the World,” to name a few.

Evergreen Outreach is amazing! Many volunteers were gone on Monday because of illnesses and other things, but other volunteers just seem to show up to take up the slack.
Our dear Bernie Ray was our pianist for the day. Her playing can turn a cloudy November day into pure joy! Four of her tunes were: “Melody of Love,” “Peg of My Heart,” “Honey” and “Room Full of Roses.”
Judy Varga filled in as leader, and led the “Evergreen Outreach” and “Welcome” songs.

  • If you're really thankful, tell someone about it

It’s that time of year again.  The leaves have fallen from almost all of the trees. The air is cold. The morning dew is now the morning frost. The smell of pumpkin pie is wafting from the kitchen. And the stores are all gearing-up for Black Friday sales.
