But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5)
The joy we celebrate at Christmas is for the arrival of the long-awaited Savior, Jesus in the flesh. In Luke, chapter two, Mary and Joseph are carrying the infant Jesus, who is 40 days old. Jesus, the savior of the world, makes his entrance into the temple in Jerusalem. It was time for Mary and Joseph to offer the required sacrifice for the first-born male.
