  • Evergreen Outreach

In the beginning, the Lord led Dale and Susan Worthington to have seven talented children, ages 6-17, who share His grace and love by playing music at His beck and call.  Their large van and covered trailer contains instruments, speakers, microphones, stands and, I bet, a mile of electrical cords.

  • Being lazy, we miss the true message of Scriptures

As a pastor, one of the things I enjoy most is getting together with other pastors.

  • Don't worry – God is in control

The following story is condensed from an article that appeared in Today’s Christian, “Not My Job” (July/August edition 2008).

Where was everyone? The sun was shining, only a rare cloud, the cookies and lemonade all made, but no one came!

  • MG church will celebrate 150th anniversary Aug. 9

The First Church of Christ of Mulberry Grove will celebrate 150 years of service to the Kingdom of Christ, on Aug. 9, 2015.
In 1865, as the contentious Civil War finished its furry and John Wilkes Booth took the life of a president from Illinois, people from the Bond County/Mulberry Grove area saw the birth of a new church, which lives yet today by the grace of God.
Two special services will take place on Sunday, Aug. 9.

  • Lesters at Mulberry Grove church Aug. 7

The Lesters, often called St. Louis’ First Family of Gospel Music, will be in concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, at the First Church of Christ in Mulberry Grove.
There is no admission fee, but a free-will offering will be received all for the Lester’s ministry.
The concert is a special program sponsored by the Mulberry Grove Ministerial Alliance. The alliance tries to provide a gospel music program on the Friday before the Mulberry Grove Homecoming parade and picnic.

Today, our thoughts are with Jesus, because he is the one who will miss us today. Since Evergreen Outreach is canceled, we must use our memories to be constantly refreshed by His love, compassion and mercy.
He will miss our off key and out of tune singing. He will miss our frail bodies, trying to dance and be strong and beautiful. He will miss our short, stumbling prayers.
In spite of all these failings he still loves us and encourages us to make forward progress and become closer to him.

OK, here is the scoop. Evergreen Outreach had the best party in town. At Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care, we ate, clapped hands, sang, danced and created very slightly mischievous good times. We are OK, as long as that angel peeking around the corner (Pastor James Fackler) keeps his eye on us.
