  • Blunt — Moy

    Miranda Autumn Blunt and Richard TaiSun Moy, both of Uptown Neighborhood, Chicago have announced their engagement and upcoming wedding.
    The future bride is the daughter of Dennis and Janice Blunt of Greenville. She has a bachelor degree, broadcast journalism from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and a master's degree in public relations and advertising from DePaul University, Chicago. She is currently employed as a copywriter for W.W. Grainger in Lake Forest.

  • Belcher — Aukamp

    Samantha Belcher of Mulberry Grove and Kyle Aukamp of Vandalia have announced their engagement and upcoming wedding.
    The future bride is the daughter of Gary and Karan Belcher of Mulberry Grove. She is a 2006 graduate of Mulberry Grove High School and is currently employed at United Stationers in Greenville.
    The future groom is the son of Kevin and Crystal Aukamp of Vandalia. He is a 2005 graduate of Vandalia Community High School and is currently employed at Culligan Water Conditioning. He will be leaving for the Army in September.

    Virginia Smith of Vandalia celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday, July 31.
    She has six children: Kenny, Bob, Ed and Herb Smith, Karen Little and Marilyn Kopp.

    Kimberlin
    The 15th annual Kimberlin family reunion was held Saturday, June 12, at the home of Michael and Kathy Brown of Vandalia, with 70 in attendance.
    President Margaret Luster conducted the business meeting and thanked everyone who helped organize the event, especially the Brown family.
    Treasurer Connie Harre gave the financial report and expenses for the past year.

  • Hayes — 50 years

    Jerry and Cathy Hayes of Kimberling City, Mo., and formerly of Brownstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Aug. 5.
    Jerry and the former Cathy Bayles were married on Aug. 5, 1960, at the Brownstown Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating.
    Jerry is a 1992 retired field superintendent from Exxon Co. USA. Cathy retired in 1992 from First Nation Bank in Brownstown.

  • Frailey — 50 years

    Charles and Connie Frailey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2010.
    The couple were married on July 1, 1960, in Bartonville. They are both retired. 
    They have four children: Kimberly Gayle Frailey of Centralia, Wanda Denise Jansen of Evans, Ga., Galen Wade Frailey of Shobonier and Charles Robert Frailey, deceased.
    They have 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

  • Carson — 50 years

    Virgil and Catherine Carson of Brownstown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, at Liberty Christian Church, hosted by their children.
    Virgil Junior and the former Catherine Friese were married on Aug. 5, 1960, in Effingham. Their attendants were Everett and Ruby Schaub.
    Virgil is the son of the late Virgil and Ethel Carson. Catherine is the daughter of the late Mike and Thelma Friese.
    He is a self-employed farmer and she is a homemaker.

  • Devore — 70 years

    The Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Gehl and Doris Devore will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, at First United Methodist Church, 128 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Waukegan.
    The couple was married on Aug. 22, 1940, by Mrs. Devore’s father, the Rev. Fred C. Mery, in their hometown of Altamont. Dr. and Mrs. Devore served at First United Methodist from 1963-1979, and Dr. Devore is currently pastor emeritus at the church.

  • Decker-Hunt

    Deborah Charmaine Decker and Stephen Lee Hunt were united in marriage at 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Lincoln Park in Zionsville, Ind., with Dr. Barton Updike officiating the double-ring ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Dorothy and the late Arlie R. White of Indiana.
    The groom is the son of Raymond and Tonya Hunt of Fort Wayne, Ind. The late grandparents of the groom, Iona and Lee Hunt of Ramsey and Hazel and Floyd Little of Vandalia, were honored during the ceremony and reception.

  • Walton – 50 years

    Kenny and Beverly Walton of Vandalia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 16.
    The couple were married on July 16, 1960.
    They have two children, Kim and her husband Kent Dunaway; and Teresa and her husband Mark Tottleben.
    They have three grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband John Johnson, Kenny Dunaway, and Karlee and her husband Tyler Kruenegel.
    They have two great-grandchildren, John James Johnson and Arian Dunaway.
    They celebrated with a party on July 17 with family and friends.
