    Matthew and Brittany Dooly of Smithboro are the parents of girl born at 10:46 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. She was named Grace Abigail.
    Grandparents are Jane and Terry Hiller of Hillsboro, and Thomas and Linda Dooly of rural Mulberry Grove.
    Great-grandparents are Russell and Audrey Hiller of Hillsboro,  and Marvin and Peggy Yordy of Eureka.

  • Frailey-Stanek Wedding

    Sara Frailey and Justin Stanek, both of Normal, were united in marriage on Friday, June 25, at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard, Mackinaw, with the Rev. Jennie Edwards-Bertrand officiating the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Richard and Debby Frailey of Altamont, formerly of Vandalia.
    The bride chose her sister, Emily Hummel of Chatham, as the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jill Peyton of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Zoe Taylor of Boston, Mass.

    Alan and Teresa Edwards of Salem are the parents of a boy born at 2:06 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. He was named Joseph Alan.
    He has one sister, 2-year-old Zoey Cameron.
    Grandparents are Bill and Cheryl Edwards of Patoka, and the late Nila Cameron.
    Great-grandparents are Danny and Barbra Oberlink of Vandalia and Bill and the late Wilma Edwards of Patoka.

  • Jahraus — Brasel

    Micah Jahraus and Klayton Brasel of Vandalia were united in marriage on May 27, 2010, in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, at the Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort.
    The bride is the daughter of Larry and Cheryl Jahraus of Vandalia.
    The couple was married in a beautiful wedding gazebo over-looking the Caribbean Sea. The white guests chairs were adorned with purple sashes and tropical flowers hung throughout.
    The bride’s father, Larry Jahraus, walked her down the beach and over the bridge leading to the gazebo.

  • Woolsey reunion

     The 18th Woolsey reunion was held on Saturday, Aug. 7, with 120 family members and guests present.
    There were two deaths, 10 births and five marriages reported.
    Family members present were from Louisiana, California, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee.
    Those from in Illinois were from Chebanse, Salem, Litchfield, Mulberry Grove, Fillmore, Effingham, Momence, Urbana, Patoka, Kankakee, Mt. Vernon, Greenville and Vandalia.
    The next reunion will be the first Saturday in August 2012.

    John and Michelle Stewart of St. Elmo are the parents of a boy born 10:33 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 22 inches long. He was named Caden Anthony.
    Grandparents are Kay Turck of Brownstown, and Kenny and Marsha Smith of Beecher City.
    Great-grandparent is the late Marjory Stewart.

  • Jensyn Payge Masset

    Jim and Gina Masset of Ramsey are the parents of a girl born at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
    She weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long. She was named Jensyn Payge.
    She has two brothers, 10-year-old Blake and 8-year-old Drew.
    Grandparents are Donald Patton and Patricia Patton, both of Pana, and Anna and the late Louis Masset of Ramsey.

    Andy and Jennifer Elam of Brownstown are the parents of a girl born at 6:09 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. She was named Madelyn Nicole.
    Grandparents are David and Melissa Willms, and Jim and Janet Elam, all of Brownstown.
    Great-grandparents are Eloise Willms of Brownstown, and Fred Willms Sr. and Joyce Kwedras, both of Vandalia.

    John Feltner and Sherry Sidwell of Brownstown are the parents of a boy born at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
    He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 21 inches long. He was named Mason Elie Feltner.
    He has one sister, 3-year-old Macie Nicole Feltner.
    Grandparents are Greg and Debbie Sidwell, and John and Tricia Struble, all of Brownstown.
