    Michael Edwards and Marta Zarzecka of Vandalia are the parents of twin girls born on Oct. 28, 2011, at Greenville Regional Hospital in Greenville.

    Boone C. Baker
    Air Force Airman Boone C. Baker graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
    The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
    Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

    A card shower has been requested for Margaret Durbin, a longtime resident of the Brownstown area who will celebrate her 90th birthday on Jan. 31.

    A reception for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Forbes, who were united in marriage on Nov. 26 in Glenview, will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, at Bethel Baptist Church, which is located on Ill. Route 185 northwest of Vandalia.
    In lieu of gifts, the couple is requesting donations to the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center in Vandalia.

    Carol Ann Reuscher of Vandalia and Kyle McCollum of Charleston were united in marriage in a ceremony at 2 p.m. on July 9, 2011, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Peter Kolb officiating.

    Amanda Burchett and Travis Torbeck, both of Collinsville, were united in marriage in a ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2011, at Patriots Park in Greenville, with the Rev. Darryl Bolen officiating.

    The bride is the daughter of the late Doyle Burchett and Patricia Richter of Greenville.
    She was given in marriage by her stepfather, Clinton “Mick” Richter.
    The bride chose her sister, Tamara Austin of Tuscon, Ariz., as her maid of honor.
    The groom is the son of Scott and Karen Torbeck of St. Peter.

    Heather and John Garrison of O’Fallon, Mo., are the parents of a girl born at 8:06 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Barnes Hospital in St. Peters, Mo.


    She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long. She was named Annly Michelle.
    Grandparents are Stanley and Julie Smith of Burlington, Ky., and Mike and Kay Garrison of O’Fallon, Mo.
    Great-grandparents are Allen and Joyce Smith of Vandalia, and Therman and Dorothy Gipson of Woburn.
